Alberta First Nations Opioids & Drug Poisoning Crisis Gathering
September 25-26th, 2023, Calgary, Alberta
The Alberta Opioids Task Force Stewards, with the Health Co-Management Mental Health & Addictions Subcommittee, hosted a gathering uniting delegates from Alberta First Nations, Tribal councils, Treaty area organizations, First Nations treatment centres, and federal and provincial government representatives.
The event aimed to:
Identify and develop responsive actions to the opioids and drug poisoning crisis in Alberta.
Strengthen relationships and build new connections across communities, sectors, and government levels.
Inform engagement strategies and accountability systems to improve coordination of actors, resources, and relationships
